The city government of Las Piñas distributed the social pension of over 2,100 indigent senior citizens from the city’s five barangays.
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar, with the assistance of Councilor Alelee Aguilar, led the distribution at the Aguilar Sports Complex in Barangay Pilar.
Aguilar said the over 2,100 senior citizens from Barangays Pamplona Dos, Ilaya, Elias Aldana, Manuyo Uno, and Manuyo Dos each received P6,000 covering the second and third quarters or from April to September.
The mayor said the payout was organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), with support from the Treasury Department, Senior Citizens Officers, OSCA staff, and Kalipi volunteers who help in ensuring the smooth flow of distribution.
Aguilar highlighted the city government’s continuing commitment to its senior citizens, saying that the program is part of her administration’s mission to provide care, dignity, and financial support to the elderly.
She said the social pension payout, which started last Monday, Sept. 15, will continue until Friday, covering other barangays in the city.
