VP Sara meets with Duterte allies in the Senate

Vice President Sara Duterte met with senators of the so-called Duterte bloc on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Duterte did not disclose the purpose of her visit, which was intended for Senator Rodante Marcoleta, rushing to meet with him as she arrived before 2 p.m. in the Senate.

Later during her visit, senators Imee Marcos and Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa also entered Marcoleta's office.

She was supposed to conduct a press conference after talking to Marcoleta, but no interview was conducted.

"Boarding na kasi flight ko taopos nagpromise ako magsasalita ako dito kaso boarding na yung flight ko so, babalik naman ako bukas (My flight is already boarding and I promised I would speak here, but since my flight is boarding now, I’ll just come back tomorrow)," she said.

A statement from Marcoleta's office said that "Duterte expressed her continued support and confidence for Senator Rodante Marcoleta during her courtesy visit."

Duterte said that she has to attend to matters in Sultan Kudarat.
