Why Kara David's birthday wish went viral

Kapuso broadcaster Kara David generated quite a stir when she delightfully unveiled her birthday wish on social media.
Celebrating her 52nd birthday, Kara lifted spirits and sparked laughter with her whimsical revelation, capturing the hearts of her followers with her infectious charm and playful sense of humor.
In a video shared on social media on Sept. 16, Kara was seen holding a birthday cake while surrounded by her friends, who sang the birthday song.
Before blowing out the candles, her friends asked Kara what her wish was. She replied, "Sana mamatay lahat ng kurakot sa Pilipinas. (I wish that all the corrupt people in the Philippines would die.)" They all shared a hearty laugh afterward. Check out the video on her Facebook.
Kara was referring to the ongoing corruption controversy that rocked the government.
Just recently, Kara renewed her contract with GMA Network. She also hosts the GMA Public Affairs podcast I-Listen with Kara David, which debuted on Sept. 17.
