Central Luzon police secure flood-control project inspections
The Police Regional Office-3 fully supports the ongoing inspection of major flood-control projects led by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Central Luzon.
PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said they are fully committed to securing these endeavors.
Flood control projects are crucial in protecting the region’s communities from disasters, Peñones said.
“Here in Central Luzon, we recognize the importance of flood-control projects in safeguarding lives and livelihoods. PRO-3 will provide the necessary security to ensure that inspections are conducted smoothly and without disruption. These projects are vital to disaster preparedness, and it is our responsibility to make sure that those working on them are safe,” Peñones said.
Peñones directed all provincial and city police offices in the region to closely coordinate with DPWH field offices and local government units in providing security assistance during inspections.
This initiative aligns with the guidance of Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla who underscored the need for continued security measures for DPWH personnel conducting fieldwork.
This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for transparent and accountable infrastructure development.
Acting PNP chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed that police units across the country will provide security to DPWH personnel and engineers during site inspections.
