Anvil Business Summit 2025 highlights insights from industry giants

The Anvil Business Summit 2025 was themed “Rising With the Giants.” Held at the fully packed ballroom of the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, the audience that afternoon was eager to listen intently as the four speakers gathered by the Anvil Business Club shared their business experiences, insights, and wisdom, while keeping their talks as engaging and disarming as possible.
Josephine Gotianun-Yap is Filinvest Development Corporation’s vice chairperson of the Board; Isidro Consunji is the chairman and CEO of DMCI Holdings; Bernie Liu is the executive chairman of Golden ABC (which counts Penshoppe among its brands); and Sec. Frederick Go is attached to the Office of the President as the special assistant for Investment and Economic Affairs. There would be no argument that these four are indeed giants in our business landscape. Before his current government role, Frederick served as president and CEO of Robinsons Land Corporation.

Regaling the crowd, Bernie spoke about steering Penshoppe into becoming the global retail giant it is today, while Isidro charmed the audience with humor, advising them to invest in “junk.” He explained that many of DMCI’s successes came from acquiring and rehabilitating failing or defunct companies, which helped transform the group into the powerhouse it is now.
Kudos to the Anvil Business Club for delivering such an engaging and memorable summit this year.
