K-pop boy band Seventeen member Hoshi, 29, enlisted in the Korean military on Sept. 16 for his mandatory military service.
Hoshi will undergo basic military training and will serve as an active duty soldier for 18 months.
During a Weverse broadcast on Sept. 15, Hoshi showed his short haircut for his enlistment.
“I've just gotten my hair cut like this, so it's starting to feel real, and I think my mind is finally becoming more settled. So, don't worry, everyone. I'll do my best. Please don't worry too much,” he said.
He is the fourth member of Seventeen to enlist in the military. On Sept. 15, Woozi enlisted in the military while Jeonghan and Wonwoo are currently fulfilling their military service.
It was reported that Hoshi donated 100 million won (about $72,509) to the Community Chest of Korea, a charity organization, to build a public school in the Ndola region of Zambia. The donation is meant to improve education in Zambia.
The newly built school is a local elementary school, currently enrolling approximately 350 children across eight grades, from kindergarten through seventh grade.
However, the school previously had only two classrooms, forcing multiple grades to share one classroom, resulting in poor conditions, Korean media reported.
On the other hand, his song “Take A Shot” will be released on Sept. 16.
Hoshi will be discharged on March 15, 2027.
