Prominent doctor in Cagayan killed in road accident

BAGGAO, Cagayan – A 48-year-old doctor was killed in an accident here on Monday night, Sept. 15.
Police identified the victim as Nixon Cabucana.
Investigation said the victim failed to notice a narrow bridge due to heavy rain while driving a white pickup truck towards Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. 
His vehicle rammed a barrier on the bridge and plunged into the river below.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead due to injuries.
Police said the victim’s vehicle which sustained heavy damage has been taken out of the river.
Friends condoled with the family of the victim, a noted public servant and awardee.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
