Police apprehended a 44-year-old member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit Active Auxiliary (CAA) in Surigao del Sur wanted for attempted murder.
The suspect was arrested in Barangay Tina, San Miguel town, on Sunday, Sept. 14.
“The CAA member, who is the Top 2 Most Wanted Person (MWP), did not resist arrest when our lawmen accosted him,” said Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer, chief of the Regional Public Information Office of the Police Regional Office-13.
The suspect was arrested by on a warrant issued by a court in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
He is now under the custody of the San Miguel MPS for proper disposition.
“The arrest of a high-value target like this demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our police force to track down and bring to justice individuals who pose a threat to our communities,” Surigao del Sur police chief Police Col. Jeffrey Lawrence D. Mauricio said.
“This is a strong message to all fugitives from the law – there is no safe haven in Surigao del Sur. We will continue our relentless efforts to ensure peace and order for all our citizens."
