Mayor Tiangco urges Navoteños to avail of real property tax amnesty
Mayor John Rey Tiangco on Monday, Sept. 15, called on property owners in Navotas to take advantage of the city’s newly approved tax amnesty program which waives penalties, surcharges, and interest on unpaid real property taxes.
The amnesty, enacted under Ordinance No. 2025-11, covers delinquent accounts for the Special Education Fund (SEF), Idle Land Tax, and other special levy taxes.
“This tax amnesty is an opportunity for our citizens to settle their obligations without the heavy burden of penalties and surcharges. By doing so, we not only ease the financial load of our property owners but also strengthen our city’s capacity to fund essential services for every Navoteño,” Tiangco said.
The tax amnesty will be in force until July 5, 2026.
The program allows delinquent taxpayers to pay in full or through installment arrangements. However, it will not apply to properties already sold at public auction, those subject to pending court cases, or those covered by compromise agreements.
Tiangco stressed that the measure is in line with the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RA 12001) and will help Navotas enhance its revenue collection while supporting programs and services for residents.
