Photos of the official showed her joining the Marian procession at the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral in Naga City, Camarines Sur on Sunday, Sept. 14.
The Vice President was seen participating in the “pagmamanto” or the placing of the “manto (dress)” of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia on one’s head for healing and protection.
The official also visited the Porta Mariae Museum following the procession.
In Naga City, she was photographed among devotees, with her granting requests to take selfies.
She earlier shared she planned to attend the festival after being in The Hague, Netherlands to visit her father, detained former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte said she wanted to meet with former vice president and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and with other officials in the Bicol Region to help understand the issues and challenges they face there.
It is not yet clear if there are plans to meet Robredo, similar to her controversial visit to her residence last year, which had become a contented issue among the former vice president’s supporters.
Duterte is expected to be back to Manila soon for the scheduled budget hearing of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) at the House of Representatives this week.
