THE Police Regional Office-9 is the new home of the Sulu Provincial Police Office.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Philippine National Police transferred the Sulu Provincial Police Office from the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) to the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) in a ceremony on Monday, Sept. 15, at the SPPO headquarters in Barangay Asturias, Jolo, Sulu.
The formal turnover ceremony was presided over by Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman, PRO-BAR director.
De Guzman underscored the significant contributions of the SPPO to PRO-BAR.
Police Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, PRO-9 chief, accepted the stewardship of the SPPO from De Guzman.
Matta stressed his commitment to strengthening police operations while enhancing community engagement and ensuring the stability and security of Sulu.
Sulu Vice Gov. Abdusakur Tan, guest of honor and speaker, reiterated the provincial government’s support to law enforcement.
The ceremony was held after Sulu province was transferred from BARMM to Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) following a final ruling by the Supreme Court.
