P4.6-M shabu seized in Central Visayas

CEBU CITY – Shabu worth P4.6 million was seized in a week-long anti-criminality and law enforcement operation in Central Visayas.

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported that 406 personalities were arrested from Sept. 7 to 13.

Arrested were 185 drug personalities – three high-value targets, 31 street-level pushers, and 151 newly identified individuals.

One-hundred fifty-three wanted persons, including 29 most wanted individuals, were apprehended.

The PRO-7 said that 33 anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted where 47 persons were caught.

Twenty-one persons were arrested and 27 unlicensed firearms were seized in the campaign against loose firearms.

“These operations show our determination to protect Central Visayas from crime. Every arrest and every firearm or drug seized means a safer community. But lasting peace and order can only be achieved if our people continue to work with us,” said PRO-7 chief Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
