Korean actress Han So-hee to Filipino fans: I will 'be there for you'
Korean actress Han So-hee met Filipino fans and promised that because of their continued love and support, she will be there for them.
Han So-hee, 31, is known for the dramas “The World of the Married,” “Gyeongseong Creature,” “Soundtrack #1,” “Nevertheless” and “My Name.”
The actress held her 1st Fanmeeting World Tour “Xohee Loved Ones” in Manila on Sept. 13 at Cove Manila at Okada Manila, an event that was designed as premium and intimate, providing fans more than just a meet-and-greet—an elevated lifestyle experience.
Han So-hee said she’s happy to meet her Filipino fans.
“First and foremost, of course, I am very, very honored and blessed to have this come true live. And secondly, of course, coming here to see the fans face to face, I'm very, very happy,” she said.
Before coming to the Philippines, Han So-hee attended the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada for the world premiere of her Korean film “Project Y.”
“I think it was yesterday when I was in Toronto, Canada for a movie festival as well, and of course, I came right away to the Philippines to meet my fans face to face here in the Philippines,” she said.
Han So-hee came up with the title of her fan meeting tour, saying, “Of course, it's like a return gift to my fans who give me unconditional and endless love. So for me, the fans are really treasures in my life. That's why I came up with this title.”
During the fan meeting, Han So-hee showed her dancing skills by performing BLACKPINK member Jennie’s “Seoul City” and girl group Aespa’s “Whiplash.”
The event was divided into different segments from Han So-hee talking about her career and personal life to playing a game with fans.
In the segment “Sohee’s Awards,” the audience voted on which character she would like to try playing among a doctor, psychopath, spy and producer.
They chose a doctor and a psychopath, which Han So-hee described as “contrasting.”
For her, she said, “My choice is a psychopath. There are different kinds of emotional factors that have to play when I do the psychopath role, right? I personally think that the charm the psychopath has to portray or express, I think I can do very well on that part.”
Han So-hee also revealed that she has visited the Philippines before.
“Well, I've gone to the Philippines for, of course, work, and, of course, for vacation or leisure as well, but it's my first time here in Manila,” she said.
Han So-hee was also presented with fan art.
In “All About Xohee: Yes or No!” game, the audience had to guess Han So-hee’s choices such as texting vs calling.
She also played with nine fans on stage during the “Drawing with Xohee” where contestants, including her, drew the given words and one team member tried to guess it.
In next segment, “Xohee’s Must-do List,” fans sent their messages and requests.
A fan asked Han So-hee for a selfie as she was “leaving the Philippines soon and might not be able to attend most of your fan meetings.” Han So-hee went down the stage and went to the back area to have a selfie with the fan.
Another fan asked for a hug from Han So-hee as it was her birthday. She granted the request.
One fan wrote, “Welcome to the Philippines. First, I would like to wish good luck and career longevity. I hope to see you more in medical dramas. Stay pretty and healthy always.”
A fan video shown at the event contained messages for Han So-hee, telling her, “Come to use whenever you want. You are never alone. It’s okay to take it slow, this is a place where staying as you are is enough.”
Han So-hee was visibly touched by the fan video. She said during times that she faced struggles, the fans were there to support her.
“First and foremost, thank you so much for saying that I'm not alone. There were so many times that I had to overcome some of the struggles and hard times as well, but the fans were there to really fill me up and not feel lonely and be with me,” she said.
She promised, “So, moving forward, I will be the one to protect you and be there for you, my fans.”
As the fan meeting was about to end, Han So-hee told fans, “Well, thank you so much for staying up and staying with me until this late night.”
“And of course, the loud cheers and energy that you have given me, thank you very much as well. Today really will be an unforgettable day for me and for my entire life, really. We're gonna meet again, right? Till the next day, we'll see each other again, stay healthy and always be happy,” she said.
