Janine Berdin teases upcoming album 'Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga' with new single 'Hayup Ka'

Singer-songwriter Janine Berdin is set to release her highly anticipated debut album, “Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga,” on Sept. 26.
The record offers a raw and unfiltered take on the realities of love, heartbreak, and healing, capturing the emotions of being, in her words, “stupidly in love.”
Ahead of the album, Berdin unveiled the single “Hayup Ka,” a striking anthem about gaslighting, manipulation, and the courage it takes to leave a toxic relationship. 
With its bold lyrics and emotive delivery, the track sets the tone for the themes listeners can expect from the full record.
Looking back on the creative process, Berdin shares that songwriting came most naturally to her. 
“I really write quick because it’s just like words in my head when I’m feeling the thing — it’s like word vomit,” she says.  “The hardest part was bringing it to life and making sure the music that comes with the message fits perfectly.”
She also expresses her gratitude to her loyal supporters: “I would really like to thank you na sinasakyan niyo lahat ng trip ko.This is my first album after being in the industry for seven years. This album is yours. My music is yours. It’s ours.”
True to her candid personality, Berdin even shares a quirky TMI about the project: “I wrote a lot of songs from this record while I’m in the toilet. That’s just TMI— but it’s true,” she says with a laugh.
Recently, Berdin was also recognized as part of Spotify’s EQUAL Philippines program, which spotlights women artists who are shaping the future of music. This milestone reinforces her growing influence and the anticipation surrounding her debut full-length project.
With its honesty, edge, and relatability, “Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga” is set to mark a new chapter for Berdin, solidifying her place as one of OPM’s most fearless and distinctive voices.
“Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga” will be available on all major streaming platforms starting Sept. 26.
Janine is a Filipino singer-songwriter who rose to fame after winning Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime. She is best known for her hit single “Sitwasyonship” and for her ability to capture the intricacies of love and life through music. 
With her upcoming debut album, “Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga,” and her recognition as part of Spotify EQUAL Philippines, Berdin continues to push the boundaries of OPM with her unapologetically honest songwriting and powerful performances.
