Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso warned criminals to think twice before committing crimes in the city as the Manila Police District (MPD) receives 30 new Yamaha NMAX motorcycles which were donated to the city government by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) on Monday, Sept. 15.
During the turnover ceremony, Domagoso welcomed FFCCCII President Victor Lim and other officials of the body at the City Hall as he thanked the private sector for their continuous support for city government in ensuring the safety and security of Manileños.
"Sa tulong ng mga bagong motorsiklo at sasakyan na donasyon ng Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), mas mapabibilis ang pagresponde ng ating kapulisan laban sa mga tolongges na nagbabalak mambiktima sa lungsod (With the help of the new motorcycles and vehicles donated by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., our police force will be able to respond faster against thugs who plan to victimize the city)," Domagoso said.
“Itong mga NMAX ay ilalaan natin sa Manila Police District. Kaya sa mga nagra-riding in tandem, mas mabilis na ang motorsiklo ng pulis kaysa sa inyo. Sana huwag na nilang gawin dito sa Maynila. Your Manila Police District is ready (We will allocate these NMAXs to the Manila Police District. So to those who are riding-in-tandem, the police's motorcycle is now faster than yours. I hope they don't do their crimes anymore here in Manila. Your Manila Police District is ready)," he added.
On Sept. 1, the city government was also given four brand-new Honda Click motorcycles, 300 helmets, and 300 raincoats courtesy of Philippine Ying Lim Fraternity President Peter Ang, Philippine Liok Kui Tong Fraternity President Hung Chi Loong, and former congressman Harry Angping, that were equally distributed to the MPD and the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) for use in their operations.
