DOLORES, Quezon – A 30-year-old driver was beaten to death and his companion was shot and wounded in a drinking session here Sunday night.
Police identified the fatality as Reonel, single, and the wounded as Clarence, 21, single.
Investigation said the victims and the suspects Harold, 19; Arnold, 31, and Ryan were having a drinking session at the residence of Ryan when a heated argument erupted.
A fistfight occurred where Harold drew a pistol and shot Clarence in the left shoulder.
Reonel was held by Ryan and repeatedly struck on the head with a hard object by Arnold.
Police arrested Arnold and the victims were taken to a hospital where Reonel was declared dead due to severe head injuries and Clarence is recuperating.
Harold and Ryan fled and the subjects of a manhunt.
The suspects face murder and attempted murder charges.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old farmer was shot and killed by two unidentified suspects Sunday in Barangay San Isidro, Candelaria, Quezon.
Police identified the victim as Joel.
Investigation said Joel was inside his house when the suspects arrived and dragged him outside his house where he was shot several times. Joel died on the spot.
The suspects wearing dark colored jackets and shorts fled and the subjects of a manhunt.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation on both cases.
