MAUBAN, Quezon – Three residents were trapped in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in Sitio Aluhin Maliit, Barangay San Lorenzo, this town, on Sunday.
Authorities identified the victims as Cristian, 29; Divina, 69, and Leon, 62.
Their house was damaged and authorities warned that the area remains highly susceptible to further soil movement, placing several nearby households at risk.
Their neighbors, Roslyn, 43, and Teddy, 55, survived as they managed to run outside their houses before the landslide struck.
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Quezon chapter has deployed an assessment and welfare team composed of two responders to help residents.
Psychosocial first aid was provided to four affected individuals.
