A low-pressure area (LPA) will bring heavy rains over parts of Luzon until tomorrow noon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned on Sunday, Sept. 14.
In its Weather Advisory No. 6 issued at 11 a.m., PAGASA said Quezon province may experience 100 to 200 millimeters of rainfall, while Rizal, Aurora, and Camarines Norte may get 50 to 100 millimeters.
“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” the state weather bureau said.
PAGASA urged disaster risk reduction and management offices to prepare.
“The public disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property,” it stated.
Also, PAGASA said its regional offices may release Heavy Rainfall Warnings and Thunderstorm Advisories to give more location-specific alerts.
