The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Sept. 14, warned of heavy rainfall in parts of Southern Luzon and Bicol as a low-pressure area (LPA) continues to affect the country.
In its Weather Advisory No. 5 issued at 5 a.m., the state weather bureau said 50 to 100 millimeters of rain are expected on Sunday in Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” it said.
Local disaster risk reduction and management offices were urged to “take all necessary measures to protect life and property.”
PAGASA said regional offices may also release Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Thunderstorm Advisories, and other severe weather information as needed.
The agency advised the public to monitor updates as the next advisory will be issued at 11 a.m.
