A 24-year-old man and his 23-year-old companion were arrested after robbing a man at knifepoint in Antipolo City, Rizal early Saturday, Sept. 13.
According to the Antipolo City Component Police Station (Antipolo CCPS), the 21-year-old victim was walking along Sitio Ruhat 4A in Barangay Mambugan at around 1 a.m., on his way home from work, when he was suddenly approached by the suspects, identified as “Miles” and “Djay.”
Suspect “Djay” suddenly placed his arm around the victim's shoulder and said, “Wag kang mag-iingay at sumunod ka lang sa utos namin (Keep quiet and just follow our orders).”
The other suspect pointed a knife at the left side of the victim’s neck and declared, “Hold-up ‘to! Ibigay mo sa amin ang gamit mo! (This is a hold-up! Give us all your things)."
Due to fear, the victim immediately handed over his personal belongings to the suspects. He then managed to seek assistance from nearby police officers, who quickly responded and apprehended the suspects.
Authorities recovered the knife used in the robbery, but the victim’s stolen mobile phone was not found.
The suspects are now detained at the Antipolo CCPS-Police Community Precinct 1 and may face charges for robbery and violation of B.P. Blg. 6 (Illegal Possession of Bladed, Pointed, or Blunt Weapons).
