House Speaker Martin Romualdez credited President Marcos on the latter's 68th birthday Saturday, Sept. 13 for guiding the government to a pro-people path.
"On behalf of the House of Representatives, I extend my warmest greetings to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. as he celebrates his 68th birthday," Romualdez, Leyte's 1st district representative and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) president, said in a statement.
"Mr. President, your leadership has inspired unity and resolve at a time when our nation faces both challenges and opportunities. Sa bawat hakbang ng Bagong Pilipinas, ramdam ng bawat Pilipino ang direksyon at kalinga na inyong itinataguyod," he said.
(Each Filipino feels the direction and care that you promise with each step of Bagong Pilipinas.)
Romualdez said President Marcos' dedication to service serves as a constant reminder that leadership is not about personal gain, but about collective progress. "Sa inyong paggabay, patuloy nating naipapakita na ang pamahalaan ay tunay na para sa tao," he added.
(With your guidance, we continue to show that the government is truly people-oriented.)
"We in Congress remain deeply honored to work alongside you in pushing reforms that will improve lives, create jobs and expand opportunities for all. The achievements of your administration – whether in infrastructure, digital transformation or social protection – are pillars that bring us closer to a nation that is stronger, fairer and more prosperous," he said.
"As you mark another year of life and service, we pray for your good health and wisdom, so you may continue to guide the Philippines with clarity and strength," Romualdez further said in his message to his cousin.
The Speaker said the Filipino nation prays for President Marcos' "strength of spirit and body".
"On this special day, the House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to being your reliable partner in governance. Together, we shall ensure that laws passed under your administration truly address the needs of our people and secure a legacy worthy of future generations," he said.
"Maligayang kaarawan (Happy birthday), Mr. President! May this day remind you of the immense gratitude of the nation you serve and the continuing trust of the Filipino people," Romualdez concluded.
