Now on its second year, Intramuros is set to celebrate the feast of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación y Correa, its Patroness and Protectress, on September 14, 2025, at the historic San Agustín Church.

The festivities will be spearheaded by the Shrine Ministry of San Agustín Church – Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación y Correa, in collaboration with the Intramuros Administration, the Department of Tourism – National Capital Region, the Department of Tourism, Culture and the Arts of Manila, with the Manila Bulletin as the official media partner.

Highlights of this year’s festivities include the reenactment of the Canonical Coronation on September 4 at 4:30 p.m. at Plaza Roma, to be officiated by Most Reverend Charles Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines. This will be followed by the Anniversary Mass at 5:30 p.m. at San Agustín Church.

Novena Masses will be celebrated from September 5 to 14 at 5:30 p.m. at San Agustín Church. On the day of the fiesta, the Misa Mayor will be held at 2:00 p.m., with His Eminence Jose Cardinal Advincula, Archbishop of Manila, as the Main Celebrant. Cardinal Advincula has been designated by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV as Papal Legate for this year’s festivities.

From San Agustín Church, the solemn procession of the Patroness will wind through the streets of Intramuros starting at 4:30 p.m.

Just like last year’s first Fiesta de Intramuros, the month-long celebration will feature a wide array of activities and events for all ages.

The sweets bazaar, Dulce Septiembre, showcasing delicacies from across the country, will open on September 6 and will run on all the days of September

On September 13 and 14, visitors to Intramuros are encouraged to come dressed in 19th-century Philippine period costumes for Intramuros de Siglo XIX: Trajes de Época.

Participants will enjoy discounts and freebies from partner establishments and free entrance to all museums under the Intramuros Administration on September 14. Affordable costume rental booths will also be available.

For the vísperas of the Fiesta de Intramuros on September 13, a full day of festivities will bring the community together in joyful anticipation of the feast of the Patroness.

The celebration begins at 2:00 p.m. with Juegos Filipinos, where families and visitors are invited to relive the charm of old Philippine culture through traditional street games that highlight the spirit of camaraderie and heritage.

At 4:00 p.m., the streets of Intramuros will come alive with the Fiesta de Bandas y Calesas, a grand parade along Gen. Luna Street featuring vibrant marching bands and ornately decorated calesas, offering a colorful display of music, tradition, and devotion.

As evening falls, the festivities will culminate in the Serenata at 7:00 p.m., a traditional evening concert held at the historic patio of San Agustín Church, where bandas de música will perform a repertoire of classical, sacred, and Filipino pieces, filling the air with a solemn yet festive spirit on the eve of the feast.

On September 14, the feast day itself, the celebrations will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a Fiesta Salu-salo, a community gathering hosted by the Intramuros barangays.

This festive event will feature a free-flowing buffet that highlights Filipino hospitality and fellowship, bringing together residents, devotees, and visitors in a spirit of unity and thanksgiving.

At 2:00 p.m., the Misa Pontifical will be solemnly celebrated at San Agustín Church, with His Eminence Jose Cardinal Advincula, Archbishop of Manila and Papal Legate of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, as the principal celebrant.

The day’s festivities will reach their pinnacle at 4:00 p.m. with the Solemn Procession of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación y Correa, gracing the streets of Intramuros accompanied by the images of the Augustinian saints as her entourage, a moving testament to centuries of devotion and faith within the Walled City.

Many more activities are scheduled for the second half of September, ensuring that the celebration of Fiesta de Intramuros continues beyond the feast day itself.
