The action-thriller movie "Nuclear Winter" has already generated strong buzz here and abroad, as it brought audiences to the edge of their seats.
Now showing in Philippine cinemas, "Nuclear Winter" is a gripping film produced by Rich Talent Vision. It is set against the backdrop of a world torn apart by conflict and survival.
The film combines explosive action sequences, high-stakes drama, and human stories of resilience in the face of global catastrophe," said director Danny H. Ugali, an acclaimed director known for his versatility in both action and drama.
Ron Chan stars in the leading role as John Shaw, a man forced to navigate political betrayal and imminent destruction in the face of a global nuclear crisis.
With a performance marked by quiet intensity and emotional depth, Ron anchors the film with a magnetic presence that is already generating industry buzz.
“This is about elevating global cinema through cross-cultural collaboration. We wanted to build something that resonates beyond borders—something bold, emotional, and globally relevant," said Ron.
Also starring in the film are Anastasiia Dymchenko, Hassan Reda, Maurice Ferando, Steve Fredriksen, Jelizaveta Mescerjakova, Elnora Rosa Celis, Brian Pepito, and Paul Al-Fakkas.

"It's an exciting movie. It will show us what will happen if there's a nuclear war. Working with the team was amazing. They felt like members of a family, Danni taught me how to punch and kick and hold firearms," said Anastasiia.
The Russian actress added, "There was a funny moment where I had to fake punch a guy, but my hand hit his jaw accidentally. It was a quick, strong punch. It was awkward, so I excused myself. But the team said the scene could be used in the film because his reaction was authentic."
Asked about the challenges in making the film, Danny answered, "We shot the whole movie on the green screen without seeing the background, unlike in the Philippines, where we shoot on location. It's a little difficult to shoot on location in the UAE because of the restrictions. So we have to adjust everything."
Elnora said that while the movie used AI, "we want to tell everyone that there was real acting among the cast and real people."
The green screen is a solid green background that isolates actors from their surroundings, enabling filmmakers to digitally replace the green with any image, footage, or computer-generated scene during post-production.
Asked how much of AI was used in the film, Ron said, "We did not quantify it anymore. However, in the movie, we explored the use of AI. We learned many lessons because it was our first time. Therefore, improvements are needed in our next project if we utilize AI again. Maybe the people can also give us feedback on the use of AI in the movie. But technology is improving, and we have found the solutions."
The theme song is performed by Peter Rosalita, America's Got Talent finalist. "It captures the soul and message of the film, complementing its emotional depth.
Following the movie's Philippine premiere last Sept. 10, "Nuclear Winter" is set for an international release.
