High-powered guns recovered in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities seized several high-powered firearms in an island barangay here on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Confiscated were two M14 rifles, one M203 grenade launcher, and one Garand rifle.

They were abandoned by an unidentified man who reportedly escaped after sensing the arrival of the Western Mindanao Naval Command, Joint Task Force Poseidon, and the Naval Task Force 61 in Sacol Island in the east coast.

They were transported to Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in Zamboanga City for proper safekeeping and custody.
