THE Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Roxas City, Capiz. (DOST Region 6)
ILOILO CITY – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has brought the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) back to Roxas City, the capital of Capiz province.
“We are here for the promotion of human well-being. We want you to have a better and longer quality of life,” said DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr.
“We are here to find solutions to health problems, food and nutrition, access to water, clean environment, clean energy, clean transport, decent shelter,” Solidum added.
With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the Sept. 10 to 12 RSTW featured exhibitions and forums about scientific innovations on health, education, disaster resiliency, agri-fishery, and governance.
“The theme reminds our researchers and scientists that their work is not finished unless it is used by most Filipinos to address various problems,” said DOST-6 Regional Director Rowen Gelonga.
A DOST Innovation Hub (iHub) for Capiz in Roxas City was launched in the RSTW.
Among the partners of DOST-6 in this year’s RSTW are Capiz State University (CAPSU), the Roxas City government, the provincial government of Capiz, Department of Trade and Industry-Capiz), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Robinsons Roxas.
