Typhoon Crising, enhanced habagat victims in San Juan receive cash aid from city gov't
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced on Wednesday, Sept. 10, that residents adversely affected by Typhoon Crising and the enhanced habagat in July will be given cash aid courtesy of the city government and the office of his sister, San Juan City Rep. Bel Zamora.
Zamora said beneficiaries include those who evacuated to the city's evacuation centers or not.
Meanwhile, those who had already received financial assistance from the National Housing Authority (NHA) during its Lab For All Program held on August 26 and those whose barangays were not affected by the flooding are not eligible for the aid.
"Isa lamang ang maaaring magpalista kada pamilyang binaha. Ang listahan ay isasailalim sa verification process ng inyong barangay at City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) upang matiyak na ang inyong tirahan ay nasa lugar na binaha (Only one person per flood-affected family can register. The list will be subject to a verification process by your barangay and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to ensure that your residence is in a flood-affected area)," the mayor said.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said that the estimated cost of damage to infrastructure by Crisig and the enhanced habagat has reached P4 billion, while damage to agriculture was pegged at P462 million, prompting the declaration of a state of calamity in 29 areas nationwide.
A total of 533,213 families or approximately 1.9 million individuals have been affected in Ilocos (Region 1), Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Central Luzon (Region 3), Calabarzon (Region 4A), Mimaropa (Region 4B), Bicol (Region 5), Western Visayas (Region 6), Central Visayas (Region 7), Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9), Northern Mindanao (Region 10), Davao (Region 11), Soccsksargen (Region 12), Caraga (Region 13), Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), National Capital Region (NCR), and Negros Island Region (NIR).
