Teen Makati resident arrested for illegal firearms in Taguig
The police arrested an 18-year-old Makati resident for possession and sale of illegal firearms in Taguig on Sept. 10.
The arrested suspect was identified as alias Renzo, male, and a resident of Guadalupe Viejo, Makati.
He was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Southern Police District’s Special Operations Unit and Taguig police along J.P. Rizal Extension, Bliss Area in Cembo, Taguig.
He will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
The operation was conducted after the police received a confidential report that the suspect was selling firearms and his involvement in a series of robbery hold-up incidents in Makati and Taguig.
The entrapment operation resulted in the confiscation of a .45-caliber .pistol without markings and serial number, a .45-caliber magazine, three .45-caliber live ammunitions, and a genuine P500 bill used as marked money placed on top of boodle money.
Renzo failed to produce documents authorizing him to possess or sell firearms. He was later brought to the SPD for documentation and the filing of charges.
The police revealed that he was the same suspect who previously eluded arrest during a police operation in connection with a robbery hold-up incident along Market! Market!, Taguig last Aug. 16. His companions were arrested and identified him as the leader.
