The local government of Pasig on Thursday, Sept. 11, reminded the public to be vigilant against individuals posing as inspectors and collecting money from establishments in the city.
The advisory came after reports of people pretending to be inspectors and demanding money from certain establishments.
It clarified that it will never charge any amount that does not go through designated cashiers and without an official Order of Payment.
“Strikto ring ipinapatupad ang pagbibigay ng Official Receipt para sa mga transaksyong pinansiyal (The issuance of an Official Receipt is also strictly implemented for all financial transactions),” it added.
It urged the public not to engage with individuals who fail to show proof that their transactions are official. To verify, residents are advised to ask for identification, such as a City Government ID.
“Kung makakaranas ng kaparehong insidente, hingan ng katunayan na ang indibidwal ay konektado sa Pamahalaang Lungsod, kuhanan ito ng litrato, at ipagbigay alam kaagad sa kinauukulan (If you encounter a similar incident, ask the individual for proof of connection with the City Government, take a photo, and immediately report it to the proper authorities),” the local government said.
“Maging mapagmatyag at alisto po tayo sa mga kahina-hinalang indibidwal at gawain (The public is advised to remain vigilant and alert against suspicious individuals and activities),” it added.
