The Office of the City Veterinarian Muntinlupa City warned the public about rabies after it recorded cases in two barangays.
As a warning to the citizens of Muntinlupa, we would like to inform you that there have been recorded cases of rabies in animals in the aforementioned areas),” the city government office posted on Facebook on Sept. 11.
It said two cases of rabies were recorded in South Greenheights Village in Barangay Putatan and Civic Drive, Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang.
As a precaution, ensure that your pet dogs and cats are vaccinated with anti-rabies and do not let them roam the streets or other public areas),” the office added.
It earlier advised the public to be part of the solution and join measures to prevent the spread of rabies in Muntinlupa.
These include getting pet dogs vaccinated against rabies every year and not letting dogs roam the streets or public places.
The office also said people should give proper care to their pets and consult a veterinarian if necessary.
