The city government of Manila has successfully collected over P93 million from contractors involved in flood control projects, as part of an ongoing effort to recover unpaid dues.
According to official records, a total of 315 Statements of Account (SOAs) have been issued to various contractors.
Out of these, 140 have already been settled, while 175 remain unpaid, amounting to P127,277,404.23.
Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso emphasized that the collected funds will be redirected toward essential city expenditures, particularly social services that directly benefit residents of Manila.
He also warned that contractors who continue to ignore their obligations will be blacklisted and barred from participating in future city projects.
The mayor added that their names will also be submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon for possible exclusion from national projects outside Manila.
