4.8-magnitude quake jolts Zambales on September 11 — Phivolcs

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Zambales at 2:09 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.
Phivolcs said the epicenter was located 18 kilometers southwest of Iba, Zambales, at a depth of 17 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV (moderately strong) in Iba and Cabangan in Zambales.
It was also felt at Intensity III (weak) in Masinloc, Zambales.
Intensity II (slightly felt) was reported in San Marcelino and Botolan in Zambales, while Intensity I (scarcely perceptible) was recorded in Dinalupihan, Bataan; Marikina City and Navotas City in Metro Manila; San Fernando and Guagua in Pampanga; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Santa Ignacia, Tarlac; and Subic, Zambales.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was tectonic in origin, caused by the movement of an active fault in the area.
It added that no damage or aftershocks are expected.
