'Wednesday' back to No. 1 on Netflix; 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' in top 10 in 73 countries

“Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega, regained the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s official weekly Global Top 10 of the most watched shows and films on the streaming platform. 

Netflix released the rankings for the period Sept. 1 to 7 of the most viewed English and non-English shows and films. 

“Wednesday” season 2, part 2 was released on Netflix on Sept. 3. This catapulted “Wednesday” to the No. 1 spot again on the English TV list with 28.1 million views. It is the No. 1 show in 81 countries and territories, and in the top 10 in 12.

The Korean drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty,” starring actress Yoona and actor Lee Chae-min, maintained its No. 2 position on the non-English TV list with 7.5 million views. 

It is in the top 10 in 73 countries, including No. 1 in eight, as it spent its third consecutive week in the top 10. 

In the last weekly ranking (Aug. 25 to 31), the K-drama was No. 2 with 8.1 million views and No. 1 in 29 countries and territories, and in the top 10 in 44. 

“KPop Demon Hunters” slid to No. 2 on the English films list with 25.4 million views. It was overtaken by “Unknown Number: The High School Catfish,” which garnered 26.3 million views. 

On Netflix in the Philippines, the No. 1 show from Sept. 1 to 7 is “Wednesday” while the No. 1  movie is the Korean film “Love Untangled.”
