P5.3-M cocaine recovered in Cagayan

CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Authorities recovered more than a kilo of suspected cocaine worth P5.3 million from a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Taggat Sur, Claveria, Cagayan on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Police Brig. Gen. Roy B. Parena, Police Regional Office-2 director, identified the suspect as alias Bong, 43, a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade.
Investigation disclosed that the contraband was allegedly part of a shipment found in the shoreline of Claveria town covered by duct tape with Coca markings.
The suspect and evidence were taken to the Claveria police station for documentation and proper disposition.
Parena said its successful recovery was a manifestation of the serious campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
