The job fairs opened opportunities for Filipinos to pursue meaningful careers in national government agencies, local government units, state universities and colleges, and government-owned and controlled corporations.
Opening doors to public service careers
The Civil Service Anniversary Job Fairs were formally launched at SM City North EDSA.
CSC and SM Supermalls executives emphasized the event’s role in bringing government job opportunities closer to Filipinos.
“SM is honored to celebrate 125 years of Philippine Civil Service by opening our malls as venues where Filipinos can discover not just jobs, but meaningful careers in public service,” said Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls.
“By working hand-in-hand with CSC and our government partners, we continue to support an empowered citizenry and sustainable nation-building," he added.
Inspiring a new generation of civil servants
More than just recruitment, the job fairs highlighted the vital role of public service in nation-building, inspiring fresh graduates and experienced professionals to consider government service as a career path.
“Especially with what’s happening now in the country, I want to be part of the public sector to be able to help make a difference,” said Joanne Moriel, a fresh graduate eyeing a government career.
CSC Director III Mary Grace Dugay also underscored the importance of the partnership.
“Our collaboration with SM Supermalls makes it easier for Filipinos to explore careers in public service—opportunities that go beyond personal growth and contribute to the progress of our communities and the nation," Dugay said. "The venues are well-organized, convenient, and accessible for job seekers," she added.
Nationwide job fair schedule
As part of the 125th PCSA celebration, the Civil Service Anniversary Job Fairs were held across several SM malls nationwide: SM City Tuguegarao (September 3); SM CDO Downtown Premier & SM City Butuan (September 3–4); SM City North EDSA (September 4); SM City Iloilo (September 4 to 5); SM City Legazpi (September 5); and SM City Baguio - Final leg (September 9).
Driving employment and nation-building
Through its #SMJobFair campaign, SM Supermalls has transformed malls into gateways for both public and private sector careers—providing accessible, inclusive, and sustainable employment opportunities.
The collaboration with CSC reaffirms SM Supermalls’ role as a trusted partner of the government in helping agencies source talent while empowering job seekers with stable and impactful careers.
“I am happy that they came up with a job fair for government agencies. Many still want to serve and work for our government,” said Ken Gonzaga, an applicant at the job fair held at SM City North EDSA.
With 88 malls nationwide, SM Supermalls continues to bridge job seekers with employers, championing inclusive growth and building a stronger workforce for the future.
