Jinggoy denies assistant district engineer's claim, dares him to a lie detector test

Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada denied on Tuesday, September 9 allegations made by a former Bulacan assistant district engineer that he is involved in the anomalous infrastructure projects now hounding the country.
This, after Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) assistant district engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez named him as one of the senators who are allegedly involved in questionable infrastructure projects, during the House of Representatives’ public hearing on the controversy regarding the government’s flood control projects.
The other senator that Hernandez’ claimed is also involved is Sen. Joel Villanueva.
“I categorically and vehemently deny the claims made by Brice Hernandez. I challenge him. LET US TAKE A LIE DETECTOR TEST before the public para malaman ng lahat kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo (So everyone will know who is telling the truth),” Estrada said.
“Talk is cheap — handa akong patunayan na pawang mga kasinungalingan ang sinasabi nya tungkol sa akin (I’m ready to prove that what he has been saying about me are all lies),” he said.
According to Hernandez, Estrada was a proponent of some projects in Bulacan this year, 2025, that is worth P355-million.
Hernandez also mentioned Villanueva, DPWH Undersecretary Robert Bernardo and District Engineer Henry Alcantara.
“Nagbaba po si Senator Jinggoy at ang kanyang SOP (standard operating procedure) dito ay 30 percent as per our District Engineer Henry Alcantara. Idineliver ito no’ng lumabas ang mga item na ito sa GAA (General Appropriations Act)…Noong 2023 naman, naglabas ng P600 million si Sen. Joel Villanueva at ang SOP nito ay 30 percent din,” Hernandez told House probers.
