Senator Alan Peter Cayetano would be the new Senate minority leader, Sen. Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada disclosed this on Tuesday, September 9.
According to Estrada, this was agreed upon by the new minority group that would be composed of senators allied with former president Rodrigo Duterte.
This development came after 15 senators voted to reelect Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III as the Senate President, ousting Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
Aside from Cayetano and Estrada, senators who will be part of the minority bloc are Senators Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Robinhood “Robin” Padilla, Imee Marcos, Escudero, Rodante Marcoleta and Joel Villanueva.
Also, according to Estrada, Marcoleta will be designated as the Deputy Minority Leader.
The group are also expecting a major revamp in the chairmanship of committees.

“Of course, all the leftovers would be given to the minority, that’s the reality,” Estrada said.
