TULAWIE undergoing booking process.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – Nedznyl Amjad Tulawie, the primary suspect in the murder of three men here, surrendered to authorities at dawn on Monday, Sept. 8, in Camp Police Senior Supt. Julasirim A. Kasim in Asturias, Jolo, Sulu.
Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) served the warrant of arrest for three counts of murder issued by the Regional Trial Court in Zamboanga City on March 27 this year.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
Tulawie is accused of being the primary suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on Feb. 7 this year in Barangay Tetuan after a reported verbal dispute in a local bar.
The attack resulted in the deaths of Troy Ducoyan, Jovert Navarro, and Anthony James Villanueva, all residents of Zamboanga City.
Tulawie, a member of a political clan in Sulu, was running for mayor of Panamao municipality, Sulu, and was spotted campaigning on several occasions and these were documented on social media.
The Zamboanga City Police Office offered a P500,000 reward for information leading to his capture. The money was reportedly offered by a private citizen.
Police also served a warrant of arrest against Tulawie in his residences in Zamboanga City. This was also documented during a live stream broadcast.
