Road closure, new traffic scheme in effect as flood mitigation project resumes in Taguig
The Taguig City government advised the public about a road closure and a new traffic scheme in a barangay due to the resumption of a flood mitigation project.
The Bagong Calzada Street in Barangay Tuktukan in Taguig is being rehabilitated under a flood mitigation project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
This involves the construction of a new drainage system, rehabilitation of the road and asphalting due lessen flooding.
It will benefit residents, commuters and jeepneys plying the Pasig Palengke–Bagumbayan route, the city government said.
The project started in March but was temporarily suspended due to the election ban.
The city government said the one-way northbound traffic scheme and road closure are being implemented until March 13 next year.
For the road closure, a 24-hour daily no-entry policy is in effect along Bagong Calzada Road (from Cayetano Boulevard up to F. Manalo Street).
The remaining portion of Bagong Calzada (from F. Manalo Street to Cayetano Boulevard) has a one-way northbound traffic scheme.
The city government advised that motorists coming from Sta. Ana Church going to Vista Mall or Cayetano Boulevard can use the route F. Manalo Street to Gen. Luna Street to Cayetano Boulevard.
For jeepneys and private vehicles, the loading and unloading zones are: Point 1 - Tuktukan Bridge and Point 2 - Puregold Tuktukan.
