QCPD strengthens security in schools, church areas in QC
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has intensified its security measures in schools and places of worship across the city.
The QCPD, led by Police Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, deployed 290 personnel to 118 schools from September 1 to 7, as part of the “Project Ligtas Eskwela” initiative.
The police also set up 87 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) at strategic points, including school entrances.
"This program aims to create a secure learning environment, reduce the risk of criminal activity near school zones, and strengthen cooperation between local authorities, schools, and the community,” Silvio said.
At the same time, QCPD reinforced its presence in religious gatherings through “Project Bathala.” From September 1 to 7, a total of 148 personnel were deployed to 438 places of worship to secure churchgoers.
“Ang layunin ng QCPD ay tiyakin na ang ating mga Qcitizens ay makapagsagawa ng kanilang pagsamba nang payapa at ligtas. Ang aming presensya ay patunay ng aming tapat na dedikasyon para sa kanilang kapakanan,” Silvio added.
Both initiatives were conducted in line with the directive of Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., acting Philippine National Police chief, to strengthen security measures in vital areas and promote the welfare of both the public and police personnel.
