Bolo-wielding man arrested for threatening tricycle driver in Manila

The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a man who threatened to kill a tricycle driver with a jungle knife (bolo) in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila, on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The suspect was identified as alias Dick, 48, and a resident of the area.
According to the MPD, the police were conducting a routine patrol along Block 17A when the victim approached them and reported that a man threatened to hack him with a bolo, prompting the officers to immediately respond.
The police spotted Dick and recovered from him a 22-inch bolo tucked in his back waist.
A review of the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage in the area showed the victim and the suspect engaging in a heated argument before the latter pulled out his bolo and attempted to hack the victim.
Police said Dick was detained at the MPD custodial facility and is facing grave threat and illegal possession of a bladed weapon charges.
He declined to comment on the crime.
