SAN JUAN, Batangas – A 69-year-old man was shot dead by his brother-in-law for insulting his sister, Sunday morning, Sept. 7, in this town.
Police identified the victim as Guillermo.

The victim was walking when he was shot by the suspect Sireno who fled and ditched the gun along the way to Barangay Bulsa.
Police arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation in Barangay Bulsa and is now in the custody of San Juan police. He faces appropriate complaints.
Police Col. Geovanny Emerick Sibalo, Batangas police director, lauded the swift arrest of the suspect.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old farmer was stabbed to death by a fellow farmer in Barangay Liwayway, Mauban, Quezon on Monday, Sept. 8.
The victim Bryan was about to go home onboard a motorcycle from a fiesta when the suspect Ald, 37, appeared and stabbed him with a bolo in the chest.
Bryan was declared dead in a hospital. A manhunt against Ald is ongoing. Lawmen have yet to determine Ald's mjotive for the killing.
Police apprehended Bicol region’s No. 1 most wanted person in Calatagan, Batangas.
The suspect faces rape by sexual assault with a P120,000 bail and 21 counts of attempted qualified rape of a minor with P200,000 bail each.
His warrants of arrest were issued by the Legazpi City Regional Trial Court.
