Man nabbed for attacking policemen with a knife in Manila
A 23-year-old man was arrested after threatening to stab Manila Police District (MPD) officers during clearing and routine patrol operations in Ermita, Manila, on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The MPD identified the suspect as alias Anthony, a resident of San Andres Bukid.
Based on the police report, officers belonging to the Special Manila Reaction Team spotted the suspect sleeping on the sidewalk of Taft Avenue, obstructing the path of pedestrians.
The policemen approached Anthony and asked him to leave.
Instead of heeding their order, the suspect pulled out a kitchen knife and attempted to stab the officers, which led to his arrest.
The MPD said Anthony was detained at the MPD Custodial Facility. He will be charged with resistance and disobedience to a person in authority and illegal possession of bladed, pointed, or blunt weapons.
