DAVAO CITY – At least 500 residents of Barangay 14-B here received free healthcare services during the Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong Medical Mission on Monday, Sept. 8.
The outreach program, organized by Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte, deployed doctors and health workers who provided medical checkups, eye consultations, and free medicines to patients of all ages.
Duterte said that the initiative sought to deliver essential healthcare directly to communities with limited access to medical services.
The initiative was a welcome relief for senior citizens like 75-year-old Rama Posadas. She said this is a big help for senior citizens.
“We are truly grateful for the free checkups and medicine. Sometimes we lack money for maintenance, so now we don’t need to go to the hospital anymore because they came right here to our doorstep,” Posadas said.
Barangay Captain Genevieve Arcillas thanked Duterte for the continued assistance. She said the barangay’s internal revenue allotment is minimal since the barangay is small.
“We are truly grateful for the medical mission and the medicines they provided. Since before, their support for our residents has been overwhelming,” Arcillas said.
