Man shot dead after fistfight in QC

A man was shot dead following a fistfight along Katipunan Avenue in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the incident happened around 9:20 a.m. on Friday, September 5, when the suspect and the victim got into an altercation near their alley.

During the fight, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun from his sling bag and shot the victim three times in the chest and once in the head.

He then fled on a motorcycle heading southbound along Katipunan Avenue.

The victim was rushed to the Quezon City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival at 10:43 a.m.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Noly,” 53, who surrendered to authorities in Tondo, Manila, the next day with the help of his family.

QCPD said he had a prior case for falsification of public documents filed in November 2023.

A murder complaint will be filed against him before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
