The San Mateo Municipal Police Station (San Mateo MPS) said that the incident was reported to them at around 3:45 a.m., prompting the dispatch of investigators and personnel to provide traffic assistance in the area.
Based on their initial investigation, the fire started at around 1:55 a.m. at the rear portion of the factory along Upper Marang Road in Barangay Maly.
They said the fire was allegedly caused by faulty electrical wiring, which produced sparks and ignited a pile of dried wood stocks.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-San Mateo, along with volunteer brigades from nearby towns, responded to contain the blaze, which reportedly reached a third alarm.
As of this writing, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the fire has been declared under control, with no reported casualties.
Authorities said they will still conduct a technical investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident, along with an assessment of the total damage.
