A total of 11,437 out of 13,193 registered examinees showed up on Sunday morning, Sept, 7, in 14 testing centers nationwide and took the first subject in the three-day 2025 online Bar examinations being administered by the Supreme Court (SC).
SC Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, chairperson of the Committee on Bar Examinations, said that the number of those who took the test represents 86.7 percent of the total registered examinees.
Taken up by the examinees on Sunday morning was the subject on Political and Public International Law from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Scheduled in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. was Commercial and Taxation Laws.
On Wednesday, Sept 10, subjects covered are Civil Law in the morning and Labor Law and Social Legislations in the afternoon.
Subjects covered on the last day of the examinations on Sunday, Sept. 14, are Criminal Law in the morning and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.
During a press briefing, Justice Lazaro-Javier said there are 6,673 female bar examinees compared to 4,764 male Bar takers.
Of the total number of examinees who reported on Sunday morning, 5,215 are first time examinees; 4,239 previous bar takers; and 1,984 refresher bar takers, the justice said.
She also said that there were 206 senior citizens who took the exams; 241 persons with disabilities, 41 pregnant women, and 139 examinees with medical conditions.
Aside from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila which is the headquarters of the Bar examinations aside from being a testing center, the annual Bar tests are being held simultaneously at the San Beda University – Mendiola in Manila; New Era University in Quezon City; Manila Adventist College in Pasay City; San Beda College – Alabang in Muntinlupa City; University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City; and Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in Makati City;
Saint Louis University in Baguio City; University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City; University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City; Central Philippine University in Iloilo City; Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City; Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City; and Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology in Iligan City.
