With the theme “We are a Creative Nation,” the celebration shall feature a variety of programs and activities intended to showcase the Filipino people’s rich cultural heritage and diverse artistic expression, with the end view of propelling the Philippines towards becoming Asia’s Premier Creative Hub by 2030.
According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), this year’s celebration will showcase the nation’s rich cultural heritage and diverse artistic talent.
The Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC), chaired by the DTI, is leading the observance with a lineup of programs and activities nationwide.
The circular instructs all government offices and government-owned or controlled corporations to extend full support, while also urging local governments and private partners to participate actively.
The memorandum supports Republic Act No. 11904, or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, which institutionalized the annual observance to highlight the sector’s role in nation-building.
Under the law, September is designated as Philippine Creative Industries Month to promote the goods, products, and services of Filipino creators, while raising awareness of their contribution to cultural identity and socioeconomic advancement.
RA 11904 likewise underscores the government’s commitment to protect and strengthen the rights of creative firms, artists, artisans, creators, workers, indigenous cultural communities, and content providers.
