Mayor Isko orders removal of viral overlapping street signs in Manila
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Friday night, September 6, ordered the removal of the controversial overlapping street signs that recently went viral online.
The mayor clarified that the project did not originate under his administration and that he merely inherited it when he assumed office.
According to a report submitted by City Engineer Armand Andres, the project titled “Installation of Reflectorized Street Name Signages” cost P39.9 million and covered Districts 1 to 6 of Manila.
The Department of Engineering and Public Works explained that old signage will also be removed to avoid duplication and confusion for motorists and pedestrians.
