Aspiring racers are invited to compete in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation for a tournament to determine the best eSports drivers in the country. That tournament is the 2025 season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines eSports GT Championship, the country’s flagship virtual racing competition.
Organized by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), the event will have participants battling through sprint races in hopes of earning national recognition and international exposure.
The qualifiers, originally set until September 14, have been extended to September 28, 2025, giving more participants the chance to secure their slots. From there, the Top 40 racers will advance to the quarterfinals. The National Finals are scheduled for October 11 to 12, 2025, at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Pasay City. These on-site races will determine who will move on to represent the Philippines in the Asia Finals in Thailand later in the year.

Eligible participants must be permanent residents or citizens of the Philippines and physically present in the country during the tournament. Players aged 17 and below are required to secure parental consent. Competitors can join the qualifiers online, provided they have a PlayStation 4 or 5, an active PSN account, a PS PLUS subscription, and a copy of Gran Turismo 7. They may also join through offline qualifiers at select Toyota GR Performance dealerships by presenting a valid government-issued ID.
Registration is done through the official link provided by TMP. After the qualifying stage, the field will be narrowed down from 40 to 20 at the quarterfinals before the semifinals and finals take place. Winners will receive cash prizes, exclusive GR merchandise, and invitations to the Toyota Gazoo Racing Academy. More importantly, the Top 3 finishers will carry the Philippine flag at the Asia Finals against top sim racers from the region.
Russel Reyes, TGR Philippine Cup Novice Class Champion of 2024 and Sporting Class Runner-Up for 2025 also has his motorsports roots in the TGR e-Sports GT Championship
Since its inception in 2020, the eSports GT Championship has provided a pathway for gamers to transition into real-world racing through TMP’s premier one-make series, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup. Notably, former e-motorsports champions Russel Reyes and Luis Moreno went on to secure Novice Class titles in the TGR Philippine Cup in 2024 and 2025.
“As we conclude one racing series this year, we are thrilled to begin another one – now for sim racers! Although the racing will be virtual, the action will surely be felt, especially at the finals at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay this October. We invite everyone to participate in this very exciting opportunity to live out their racing dreams,” said Andy Ty, TMP’s Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services.
