Terrafirma still undecided who to pick first in PBA draft

"We are here to scout the best available talents for the draft. For now, undecided pa rin. Pero going there na diretso na kung sino dito ang mapipili. Pinag-uusapan na namin ng coaching staff saka ng management," said Tubid.
"We have a list na pero hindi pa 100% kasi what if ganito, ganyan? Maraming tanong eh. Pero meron na kaming pinagpipilian for number one. As of now hindi muna sasabihin kasi surprise," he added smiling.
Picking the first overall pick will be the first task Tubid has to carry out as the new head coach of the Dyip and since taking over the reins from interim coach Raymond Tongco during the offseason.
After a dismal 3-30 record and two failed bids to sell its franchise last season, the Dyip are entering a rebuild for the brand-new season with the top overall pick potentially be one of the team's centerpiece.
Among the PBA hopefuls, emerging as potential top picks are Juan Gomez de Liano, Geo Chiu, Dalph Panopio and Jason Brickman.
As of now, according to Tubid, the team has around six or seven players in contract with the Terrafirma and the draft can help them form a competitive lineup.
"Di naman tayo sasali dito sa PBA kung ayaw nating manalo, that is why we practice hard every day. Kung sa akin, given a chance na makakuha ako ng maayos na player dito (sa draft), ilalaban namin," said Tubid.
Asked whether the team will also try to improve its team through trades, Tubid is leaving it to the management to decide.
"As of now, wala naman sinasabi yung higher management. As of now nag rerebuild yung team, yung practices namin limited sa workouts, schemes kasi kulang pa kami so pag kumpleto na dun na kami bobomba na talaga," he added.
